Dear Friends,

We are a second grade class in Andover, NJ and go to the Florence M. Burd School. Our town is in Sussex County at the northern tip of New Jersey. It has farms with cows and horses. We also have lots of houses. We have two airports, dinners, and a main street. We have mountains covered in forests. There are lots of deer, bears, snakes, and lakes. In winter we get snow and sometimes we get so much we dont have school. Hope to hear form you soon.

Sincerely,

Class 2-14 (#423)

Hello from Texas!

Howdy from Academy High School #52. Our high school is located on the campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville and we have about 160 students attending our school. Some facts about Kingsville are that we are located at 23.3N 97.5 W, about 45 miles from Corpus Christi. Kingsville was founded in 1904, in an area called the Wild Horse Desert. We have population of about 20,000. One thing to see in Kingsville is the King Ranch, which covers 825,000 acres and the only registered cattle breeds (2)developed in the US were founded by the ranch. Another great thing to see is the Naval Air Station. Kingsville serves as one of the largest advanced jet training centers in the US. Over 200 naval pilots a year are trained at NAS Kingsville. Birding and wildlife is another great thing to see in our town. Over 350 species of birds can be found throughout the area. If you would like to visit our school website the address is www.sgisd.esc2.net.

Best Wishes, Mrs. Powell's World Geography Class

Dear Friends,

We are in Ms. McDavids gifted class of first and second graders at Hembree Springs Elementary School in Roswell, Georgia. Roswell is a northern suburb of Atlanta, the capital of Georgia. One of our favorite things to do in Atlanta is to visit Zoo Atlanta. You can too if you click HERE!

Our town of about 80,000 people is rich in history with many old plantations. Our school is about one and a half years old.

We have almost 700 students in grades Pre-K through 5th.

Welcome to ! Our state is also called The State. Our State Bird is the Brown Thrasher. Our State Flower is the Cherokee Rose. Our State Tree is the Live Oak. Georgia is also known for its peanuts, the Cherokee Indians, the Okefenokee Swamp, , its many sea islands, , and old Southern plantations like this one in Roswell. We hope to hear from you soon.

Our love and best wishes throughout the year,

Ms. McDavids First and Second Graders #62

Greetings from Albuquerque, the largest city in New Mexico! Albuquerque was founded in the early 1600's by Catholic priests from the country of Spain and was named after the Duke. We are located at coordinates 35.0836 North and 106.651 West which is approximately an hour south of the state capitol of New Mexico, Santa Fe. To the north of Albuquerque is a Native American Pueblo. To the south is Sandia National Laboratory and Kirkland Airforce Base. To the east is the Sandia Mountain Range. To the west is the Rio Grande river. Albuquerque has a population of 448,607. The altitude is 5,280 feet above sea level. Our coldest month is January with an average low of 22. July is the hottest with an average temperature of 93 degrees. Albuquerque has many cultural events to offer with the State Fair in September, International Balloon Fiesta in October, Luminaria Tour in December and many more.

It's fun to get postcards from classes all over our country!
